How to Use Emergency Contraception
What if I take the second pill first?
Two of the brands of emergency contraceptive pills available in the United States, Next Choice and Levonorgestrel Tablets, contain two pills. The package says to take one pill immediately after unprotected intercourse, and then to take the second pill 12 hours later. You can take both doses
at the same time. However, if you decide to take the pills separately, know that there is no difference between the two pills, and it does not matter which pill you take first.
