The Emergency Contraception Website - Your website for the "Morning After"

In the U.S., morning after pills are available without prescription for women and men 17 and older. EC will soon be available on the shelf without restrictions (most likely in July or August 2013), but this change has not taken effect yet. You still need to be 17 or older to purchase EC, and it is available only from the pharmacist.

Next Choice One Dose

The Next Choice One Dose label says to take one peach pill within 72 hours after unprotected sex. This dose contains 1.5 mg of levonorgestrel.

However, recent research indicates that it can be taken up to 120 hours after unprotected sex. The pill is more effective the sooner it is taken, so take Next Choice One Dose as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse.
